Trump Orders Military Strike On Syria

Last Thursday (April 6), The United States launched 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at an airbase in Syria. The strike on the Syrian military airbase was in retaliation to an “in-house” chemical weapons attack. The attack killed many civilians earlier this week.

This is the first direct attack from the U.S. while Syria has been under Bashar al-Assad’s rule. Apparently, Trump was moved to go against his original plan to not get involved with what was going on in Syria. Graphic images of the chemical weapons attack has been circulating the internet, which has resulted in U.S. citizens speaking out. Perhaps this is what led to Trump ordering the attack? Or maybe there’s more to this story than we have been privileged to?

However, since the missile attacks, many are concerned that the strike may result in war. This could also lead to Russia getting involved.

Syria has been in the midst of a six-year civil war, which has claimed over 400,000 lives. The U.S. involvement could bring war right to our doorstep as well. The next few moves made by the U.S. will definitely be the most crucial. Trump is our president, so things could get a lot more chaotic before they get better.
