Chance the Rapper continues to show how dope he really is.

During a press conference at Westcott Elementary School in Chicago, He announced that he would be giving a $1 million donation to Chicago Public Schools. This announcement came after his meeting with the governor of Illinois, Bruce Rauner. Apparently, Chance wasn’t happy with the meeting, and maybe this is simply an act of putting his money where his mouth is?

Chance making this donation is major. He is putting a whole new twist on what being an independent artist looks like. He’s built his platform, he obviously have the right people around him, and he isn’t afraid to give back to the community.

"This isn't about politics, this isn't about posturing, this is about taking care of the kids," he said.

Chance the Rapper also announced that he would be donating $10,000 to different schools to fund afterschool programs.

Maybe this will inspire others in his position to do the same. We must be the change we seek within our communities. Well done Chance. Well done.
